Scent marketing in Manhattan

Manhattan buildings are tall, busy and heavily conditioned, which makes airflow the first thing we look at.

Manhattan's building stock runs from pre-war towers with retrofitted air handling to new curtain-wall construction with tightly zoned mechanical systems. Both can be scented, but not in the same way, and that is why every Manhattan project starts with our engineering team walking the space in person rather than working from a floor plan.

The spaces we are most often asked about here are office tower receptions and conference floors, hotel lobbies and amenity levels, flagship retail on the avenues, and the lobbies and amenity floors of luxury residential buildings. All of them share the same challenge: high ceilings, constant door cycling onto the street, and a volume of air that punishes guesswork.

Where central air already serves the space, HVAC scenting is usually the answer, because the micro-mist travels with conditioned air through the existing ducts and leaves nothing visible in a designed lobby. Where a tenant controls only part of a floor, or a building runs split systems, standalone diffusers cover the area independently.

Typical spaces

What we are asked to scent in Manhattan

Office tower receptions and conference floors
Hotel lobbies, corridors and amenity levels
Flagship and boutique retail
Luxury residential lobbies and amenity floors

The free site survey is carried out in person by our engineering team. From there, a space is served either by HVAC scenting — a dry micro-mist carried through existing ductwork, with no damage to the ventilation system and the fan set to ON for continuous circulation — or by standalone diffusers where there is no central air.
